before-after-inside

* Yearly checkups, or tune ups, ARE required by manufacturers when 10 year warranties are in effect.  In most cases, they will require proof of annual maintenance for warranty claims.

** With higher SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating equipment now required and available, don’t try to cut corners.  Be sure not to overlook your existing duct system in order to keep costs down.   If the duct is not sized for the proper supply air static pressure,  has leaks and is not clean, the high SEER rating will NOT be achieved, the unit will remain inefficient and will cost you money.  Also, accurate square footage measurements are vital for the SEER rating to be true.

It is important to evaluate the electrical requirements of your new equipment against your current available electrical service.  Undersized wiring and breakers will cause overheating of both, over work the system, and could cause a fire.  As dangerous, over sized existing breakers, regardless of compatible wiring, will not provide proper over load protection, which can also cause a fire.

IMPORTANT:  State Law requires permits for this type of work.  Inspectors will require up to code work.  Contractors are required to correct any code violations.   Never allow a contractor to charge you extra for “Permitting” your job.  If you allow a contractor to waive Permitting, YOU are at risk.
